Nursery Additions

The nursery for Ty and Davis has worked out fantastic so far these past four months. I am so glad Rob built the day bed with the Ana White plan. It is perfect for nursing, reading books and for sleeping.  I pretty much slept in there for the first 12 weeks, and I highly recommend the mattress that we purchased from Amazon.  Who would have thought that a mattress that arrived in a bag would actually be really comfortable?

Well I finally got around to doing something with the bottom of the bed where there was great storage.  I was able to put the rest of the books for the boys and many of their stuffed animals they have accumulated.  Wynn definitely enjoys coming in their room each night and picking out books for them from here or from the book ledges.
I just purchased these adorable prints from the Etsy store PicabooArtStudio. They came in a matter of days all the way from Hawaii. They were a great price too. You should check out her Etsy store when you have a chance. I just purchased some frames from Amazon to hang these with the Land of Nod Inspired Artwork I just shared last week.

The boys could not be left out and not receive their own piggy banks. I purchased these from Amazon and have plans on making them a little different with my Silhouette machine soon.

I also changed up the curtains and purchased some Pottery Barn Kids black out sail cloth curtains. Who knew they would make such a huge difference. They help keep the room a lot darker in the mornings during naptime.

We are loving life even if we are sometimes sleep deprived.  Basketball season is ending this week, and Rob definitely spent last weekend walking around with a tape measure planning out his spring projects in his free time to come.

Burlap Monogram

One of my favorite people in the world is my Aunt. She is so kind and always thinks of others. I thought since I would be seeing her soon that I would make something forher for spring.  I had purchased a burlap canvas a few weeks back at Michaels, and knew I would use it soon. After seeing all the beautiful Hometalk Michaels Pinterest Party projects that were shared last week I decided to get to work on my own project.

All the materials I used in this project were from Michaels. I used spray adhesive to attach the turquoise burlap that I bought in a roll for $2.99.  The burlap canvas was $8.99 on sale.  It is approximately 16 inches long.  Then I took the chalkboard tag that I bought in a set of four colors and wrote the year of their wedding anniversary on it. The tags were about $.75 each on sale in a pack of four.   I painted the wooden "M" that was around $3 in some tan paint I already had. I glued on a fabric flower from my craft collection and attached a simple jewel I bought on clearance from Michaels last year.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Enjoy your week.

Silhouette Piggy Bank

Wynn and I took a plain white piggy bank that I purchased on Amazon and decorated it with some vinyl cutouts from my Silhouette Cameo.  Wynn insisted that her soon to be cousin have a piggy bank just like the one she has.

Instead of just leaving the bank looking plain I let Wynn pick out an image for it. She chose the girl silhouette and then said we needed to place an "S" for Sawyer on one of the sides.

This is such an easy item to personalize for any child. I know that Sawyer will be able to use this for a long time.
This project was another quick one that Wynn and I did together while the boys napped. We are beginning to do a lot more projects together now that she is four. Here is a new picture of the three kiddos I thought I'd share...

We ended up celebrating Valentine's Day mostly snowed in and we even took all three kids out to an early dinner. It was the second time we have done that and we all made it out alive.

Land of Nod Inspired Kids Artwork

I saw some adorable wall decor in the Land of Nod catalog a few weeks ago. I wanted to fill a small space in the nursery, and decided to make my own version inspired by the $25 a piece framed wall decor from Land of Nod.

I was at first going to purchase square frames, but decided in the end that it was not cost effective. The frames that the LON has are 10 X 10, and I ended up purchasing 6 X 6 canvases. The reason I chose that size was that I found the some scrapbook paper I wanted to use in that dimension.

I purchased the canvases through a seller on Amazon. The only reason I did this was because I knew I could get them easier this way. I had no idea if there would be a Michaels trip in my near future and I did not want to wait.  I simply mod podged the scrapbook paper to the canvas. Then I cut out some animal shapes I had purchased for my Silhouette Cameo machine. The entire project took about twenty minutes of work and some drying time in between.

Here are the inspiration photos from Land of Nod's site.

I am very happy with how they turned out. It cost approximately $8 dollars for me to make four of them. Instead of the $100 it would have cost to buy four of these from Land of Nod.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Simple Baby Gift Idea

My family is expecting a new little girl to arrive very soon. I thought I would put together something for the little girl's room.

I found this adorable frame from at Target on clearance. The chevron print was in one of the colors I knew that room would be done in, and so I picked it up thinking I would give it as a gift. Instead of just handing over a blank frame I personalized it a bit.  Then I found some used from scrapbook paper and vinyl for my Silhouette to spell out her name. The turquoise and gray are also colors of the nursery.   It was super simple and looked perfect as the gift topper on my main present.

I was so excited to make this cute little gift, and I now am kicking myself for not picking up more of these frames. For only $3 I could have made a few of these cute name gifts.  Thanks for stopping by!

Valentine Plate "Wreath"

I found a plate on clearance last year at Michaels and then just added it to my pile of crafting supplies. I decided to make a simple plate wreath for my front door for Valentine's Day. I have limited time nowadays during "nap time", and so this project was perfect because it took less than five minutes from start to finish.

I had a wooden word cut out from Michaels and painted it with white craft paint. Then I simply glued it with my glue gun to the plate. Then I added some ribbon to the back to create a way for the plate to hang on my front door. Cute and quick! Now these are starting to be my favorite types of craft ideas.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful day!Wreath

DIY Laundry Room Inspiration

Our laundry room is so boring and not so nice. Rob has been itching to get started on a few projects in there this winter. He has been coaching this winter, so there has not been a lot of free time to start such a project. However, I did notice that he was pinning laundry room ideas. That got me excited! Here are some inspiring ideas that we have both pinned and loved.

I absolutely adore these floating shelves that were shared on the blog Four Generations One Roof.  Rob is planning on installing some similar shelving above our washer and dryer. I really like the thickness of her shelving here.I also adore the baskets she has chosen to place on them as well.

We have similar outlet positions as the outlets in the beautiful laundry that Domestic Imperfection created.  It makes me think we can make the outlet work even though I despise the location.

I love the colors and especially the rug that was placed in the beautiful laundry room by I Heart Organizing.  I think that rug is great because it really brightens up the space. Since I do not have a window in my laundry room I think I'll need to add some color to it.

Cristina at Remodelando La Casa has an amazing laundry room, which comes complete with an awesome chalkboard. She has such wonderfully high ceiling in her laundry room too. I wish I could somehow raise my ceilings up to have such great storage up the wall like that.

To see more of the amazing ideas I have pinned check out my DIY Laundry Room board on Pinterest. I hoping that once basketball season ends for Rob's team then this project will move to the front burner as soon as possible.

Recycled Valentine Wreath

I think I am at it again with recycling a wreath I've already made to fit a new holiday.  I took my Halloween Wreath and added some fun Valentine details to it.
I added some pink ribbon and some felt Valentine stickers to it. I am excited that once again I did not have to come up with a new wreath for my front door. I hope you have a great Valentine's Day. I will be spending mine at a high school boys basketball game with the kids cheering on Rob's team.

Here is what the wreath looked like for Halloween:

Have a great day! Thanks again for stopping by!

LOVE Onesies

I wanted to do something unique for the boys for Valentine's Day   My mom was up for cutting out some letters and hearts for this project, and so she cut everything out and brought it to my house.

She applied the iron on transfer material to the back, and quickly ironed on the hearts and letters to some onesies I already had in the drawer in the boys room.

Here are the boys in their LOVE onesies. They were very cooperative.

We had to make sure we got a shot with the big sister in it too.
Hope you have a great February and Valentine's Day!
